We got so much done, way more than I thought possible. We worked on father-in-law's (now sister-in-law's) house. Took a toxic home that smelled/reeked of nicotine, pet urine & feces and tore it down to studs and rebuilt it to habitable - 3 rolloff dumpsters filled & numerous dump runs; rotten & termite ridden studs, sheathing & subflooring replaced; tore out all drywall & insulation and installed all new insulation; all new plumbing and entire bathroom replaced - new tub/shower, surround, toilet, sink & vanity; some new electrical; new ducts for HVAC; ran cable & RJ45 for TV & internet; painted cabinets, etc.
2. Did anything exciting or unexpected happen to you during the first half of 2024?
With FIL dying just before Christmas our 2024 was not at all what we expected See #1 above.
3. What big plans do you have for the second half of 2024?
Work on our own home with a few DIY projects - make a new built-in bathroom vanity in our powder room, and install a new water heater; relax more and heal (my sprained finger & sore shoulder from working on Amy's house still need to recover), vacation this summer and then Renaissance Faire season in the fall.
4. Have you taken, or are you planning, a vacation this year?
Yes - we went to our beach house for a week in the Spring, we visited the mother-in-law on the way, and we got to San Antonio Texas and the Sherwood Forest Faire near Austin TX. We currently have plans to visit mother-in-law in NC, and plan to go to our beach house a few times.
5. Have you ever wanted to be one of the people writing and posting these questions?
Not really but I so enjoy reading other people's responses and replying to them.
