Date: 2021-08-12 09:28 pm (UTC)No. My parents separated when I was 6 and divorced when I was 7.
2. Did you reach adulthood with four living grandparents?
Yes, and all were alive when I had my eldest daughter who knew her great grandparents.
3. Is your extended family a close one or not?
Not really. There isn't much extended family to have. I have one aunt and one uncle and no cousins. I have a lot of distant relatives that I now know and have online friendships with but nothing massively close.
4. Does your family have a 'black sheep'?
If there was a black sheep, I was probably it but it depends on what you mean by that. I had a great uncle who served time in prison for killing a police officer. I suppose he could be considered something of a black sheep. If you just mean bucking trends and taking risks, that would be me.
5. What is your first memory of a family member that is not your mother(s) or father(s)?
I remember having my picture taken with my great grandmother when I was about 6 months old. A month or two later she died.

2. Did you reach adulthood with four living grandparents?
No, my Dad's dad died when I was 13, and his Mom followed a few months later.
3. Is your extended family a close one or not?
Less so now than when I was a kid, I think... we were like a hybrid of the Waltons and the Ewings.
4. Does your family have a 'black sheep'?
Well, me of course :)
5. What is your first memory of a family member that is not your mother(s) or father(s)?
My sister, who is just two years younger. I interacted with grandparents earlier than that but I don't have *memories* going back to before I was two. Or not the kind that I can be clear on what it is that I'm remembering if you know what I mean.
