2. What got you into it? My mom and aunt cross-stitched and seeing them as I grew up. Then my mom taught me when I was kid. Scrapbooking I had to do a scrapbook project in 5th grade. Then when I was dating Pat for our dating anniversary I made him a scrapbook and then kept adding to it.
3. What was your favorite arts & crafts project as a kid? Making wreaths, iron press on for various shirts/bags and such with my mom's help.
4. What has someone made for you? My first class I taught painted me a class painting. ♥
5. Are there any unfinished projects in your life you need to pick back up? Oh various cross stitch projects. I have a stash and a stash to frame.

I like making patches for my old jeans and sometimes embroidering something on them and attaching them.
2. What got you into it?
I had on an old pair of jeans that fit well when I was overnighting at a friend's house and the leg area above the knee ripped. So I borrowed some material and a needle and thread and patched it. So then I was invested in them (and as I said, I liked them to begin with) so as they developed subsequent holes I made more patches. The more I patched them, the more I had invested in keeping them going. Oh, and I liked the specific appearance of the jeans with patches, I thought it looked cool.
3. What was your favorite arts & crafts project as a kid?
I don't think I had any that I particularly liked as a kid. Hmm, yes there was: I enjoyed making a riot of colors with crayons until there was no remaining white space, then covering it all with black crayon, then using a sharp toothpick or similar item to scrape away the black, so I'd end up with a drawing made of color against a black backdrop.
4. What has someone made for you?
I have a winter bathrobe with kittens on it that my mom made for me.
5. Are there any unfinished projects in your life you need to pick back up?
Not in the arts and crafts area, at least not that I can think of.

1. What's your favorite crafty activity? At the minute, knitting - I don't do a huge amount but I do pick it up and do a bit every so often. I used to do some embroidery, including blackwork, but the eyes are not really up to the ultra-fine-and-fussy any more.
2. What got you into it? My mum was a brilliant knitter, she taught us all (she also taught my sisters crochet and tried to teach me but I couldn't get the hang of it...) I have never been nearly as good as she was, and I didn't do any for years and years, but I'm finding it's easy to get back into.
3. What was your favorite arts & crafts project as a kid? Honestly cannot remember at all. I think I liked to draw right up until I realised how totally crap I am at it...
4. What has someone made for you? I have two sleeveless knitted vests that Mum adapted from old patterns, with wonderfully elaborate stitches (a purple one with blackberry stitch, and a yellow one with lace panels from a 1950s pattern, with much inner wool, that she just changed for heavier wool and a completely different style, I did say she was brilliant!)
I have a few other things, including two simple decorated boxes Sis did for me as 'gift boxes' for her real presents but I kept because I love them as well as the present. I use one little octagonal brown one for a sewing box (my sewing 'kit' is so small... just for repairs and buttons) and the oval green one for throwing odd change into each few days (it adds up nicely and I can then drop it in at the bank. A small extra way of saving :)
5. Are there any unfinished projects in your life you need to pick back up? There would be... but for once the packrat in me didn't win and I no longer have them hanging around :)
