1. Have you ever had a movie both totally captivate and complete confuse you?

2. When watching a movie, do you prefer things all laid out or to have to 'hunt for your own clues' along the way?

3. Do you want an ultimate ending to your movie or do you prefer to have it open for conjecture and discussion.

4. Do you talk during a movie (preferably one in your home, not in the theatre)?

5. Have you ever seen a blockbuster movie and not get what was so great about it?

Questions from [community profile] thefridayfive... being in mind I'm not a great film watcher anyway, but I have those I love.

1. Have you ever had a movie both totally captivate and complete confuse you? See my favourite movie, Svankmajer's Alice - for that matter most of his long and short films :). And the 1960s ghost movie Kwaidan.

2. When watching a movie, do you prefer things all laid out or to have to 'hunt for your own clues' along the way? Six and two threes. Most of the time I like a film to make me think some (though yes, there are times when simply tuning the brain off is good) but I'm not really one to want to have to concentrate too much or think <>/em>too hard. That's what books are for!

3. Do you want an ultimate ending to your movie or do you prefer to have it open for conjecture and discussion? These days, sad to say, 'open' means they're angling for a sequel or six. Not my idea of fun. I don't mind the ending being one to (again) make me think and imagine, but obvious angling for more of my money -? Not so good.

4. Do you talk during a movie (preferably one in your home, not in the theatre)? At home? Oh yeah, have been known on a lowering number of occasions to yell at the characters or vocally question their intelligence/morals/etc. Sis and I do sometimes also carry on a side conversation about something watching has brought up....

5. Have you ever seen a blockbuster movie and not get what was so great about it? I do not have the slightest interest or understanding of the appeal of superheroes, and never have (I do accept that other folk love them, I just don't). I would rather watch concrete crumble than have to follow Superman, Wonder Woman, the Marvel menagerie or their whole ilk. So right now, most of the current blockbusters would leave me befuddledly blank if I even bothered to see them....
