1. What's your favorite dish to bring to a summer cookout? Something bought - non-cook here, remember? The local Cheesecake Shop does a good line in tortes, mudcakes, cheesecakes (surprise!) and my own favourite, pavlova…

If I am on a budget, however, whatever the season no one ever says no to Tim Tams, and they're just as good cold from the Esky.

2. How much time have you spent outdoors this week? It is fairly cold and has been raining on and off all week. Not bloody much, let me tell you :(

3. Where do you set your thermostat? We don't have one. The gas heater is on medium (it's a good one, we rarely need more than that to warm the room).

4. How did you learn to swim? I never did, all attempts were sad and sinking failures.

5. How do you avoid overheating? At the height of summer, I stay in air-conditioned buildings, including my home. Otherwise, lots of shade, cool drinks, hats, fans… and other a/c buildings :)

Dessert is always a winning choice to bring to a cookout! What's a mudcake? Is it similar to a brownie?

A/C is the best. I remember when we didn't have A/C at home and we'd spend a lot of time at the library in the summer.

Mudcakes are I think just simple, dense originally-and-usually-chocolate cakes, they're also hugely popular 'cheap' supermarket cakes here (the two big chains sell chocolate, white chocolate and caramel among others). People like to buy and then 'hack' (aka doll up) the cakes for parties etc.

Interesting! I'm not a huge fan of chocolate so idk that that would be my thing.
