Date: 2023-07-30 09:36 am (UTC)1. When did you recently have the feeling, "Life is good." Early this week, Tuesday I had morning tea with a friend for her birthday, then lunch with my little writing group (good food and writing :) and after that a zoom session which went really well - then on Wednesday I went to the dentist and was told good news, the replacing of older fillings that the other dentist I saw six months ago said might be needed.... isn't (I've not had any pain so was hoping!) and then got a parcel from Japan. And have gotten quite a bit of writing done this week, and did some gardening and... thought how the things I do now are much more satisfying if less 'important' than when I was working. Life may not be exciting or filled with deep meaningful things, but I have what I need both materially and mentally, so... all good.
2. Which do you need more, routine or spontaneity? I tend to muddle through with a mixture of both (I have a calendar. I write things on it. This is the height of organisation for me :)
3. Do you have a difficult or annoying neighbor? No, for which I'm grateful, we all live peacefully and just say 'hi' when we see each other. There is someone a block away rather too fond of thumpy music, but they don't do it as often, have turned it down a bit the last few months, and almost always stop before ten, so we are watching TV anyway which pretty much drowns it out.
4. What do you want to change about yourself? Does this mean change that I can (which is probably lose weight and stop procrastinating) or that I can't but would if I could (grow three or so inches more, not have any arthritis)?
5. What do you like best about where you live? It's a great size town for me, big enough to have plenty of shops, the clubs etc that I like, lots of parks, a good library and university etc... pretty much everything I need or want, but it's not too big and impersonal, I can find my way around the whole and the traffic etc is relatively smallscale when driving.
And there are lots of old houses and gardens, with things like crepe myrtle and wattle. Nice.
