1. Are you happy with your current line of work? What do you like/don't like about it?
2. Do you see yourself doing the same type of work in 5 years? What about 10?
3. Did you see yourself doing this type of work 5 years ago? What about 10?
4. Did you have a dream job as a child? What was it?
5. If you had to pick a radically different job from what you have now, regardless of whether you'd realistically be able to do it given your skillset, what would you pick and why?

I'm an office clerk & legal assistant at a midsized law firm. I like the people, but dislike the fact that I don't usually get to use my brain as much as I want to. Sometimes I obsess over random things solely to have something to think about. For example, today I took it upon myself to figure out the most fair way to arrange my department's summer schedule despite that being my supervisor's job. I think that this may change if either halves of my job develop into something more, though.
2. Do you see yourself doing the same type of work in 5 years? What about 10?
Five, possibly. I have no idea if I will go through with this, but I've entertained the thought of becoming a lawyer myself. I don't want to seriously consider it though until I make good progress with a degree (if accepted to university in the first place), especially because I'm partially motivated by my frustration over the lawyers thinking that I'm dumber than I really am. Honestly, I'm probably just as smart as at least some of them. I could contend on their level if I read the same textbooks and received the same mentorship.
Regardless of whether or not I pursue law school someday, I want to do or grow into something that will force them to acknowledge me as something more than a pleasant personality and pretty face.
Perhaps all of this sounds odd given how I answered the first question, but I truly like nearly everyone in the firm. I just wish they saw me as I really am. In any case, I can see myself staying here and doing this job while at least completing an undergrad degree. Perhaps that alone would tell them that I have a brain capable of processing things beyond their immediate office needs.
Ten years, no. If I'm still at the firm, then I want to either focus exclusively on the office administration half — with a promotion — or become a paralegal.
3. Did you see yourself doing this type of work 5 years ago? What about 10?
Definitely not. I initially got this job through a temp agency.
4. Did you have a dream job as a child? What was it?
Yes. Actress. Sometimes I still fantasize about an alternate life where I pursued it and made it.
5. If you had to pick a radically different job from what you have now, regardless of whether you'd realistically be able to do it given your skillset, what would you pick and why?
Something creative, like a writer or actress (note my answer above). I've always loved the arts. My biggest issue isn't skill, it's follow-through. I'm quite lucky in that I have a natural aptitude for most creative endeavors, but I never know how to begin. If I ever told you all how much I've daydreamed about writing a novel and yet can't even start a short story or fanfic...
