Date: 2025-05-01 09:23 pm (UTC)I think it is still Outlander. I can't think of another book that comes close.
2. What is your all time favorite movie?
I don't know. I have a lot of favs. Here are my genre go tos:
Romance: While You Were Sleeping, Little Women (with Winona Ryder), Pride & Prejudice (Kiera), The Notebook, It Ends With Us (being ruined), Moulin Rouge!, The Holiday
Action: Twister, A lot of the Marvel movies..., Speed, Godzilla 2014
Drama: Apollo 13, Hunger Games movies,
Disaster movie: Deepwater Horizon or The Impossible
Fantasy: Labyrinth, Princess Bride, Willow, Harry Potter movies
3. What are you reading right now?
Temperance of the Shackleford Sisters by Beverly Watts
4. What is your favorite show on TV?
Currently on. I think it is Tracker. I just love it. Stranger Things. The Witcher (with Henry), Bridgerton. But always and forever: Friends, The Pretender, and Firefly.
5. What is the last movie you saw in the theater?
Let me think... let me think... hmmmm.... Captain America: Brave New World. I like Sam. Don't get me wrong. By Steve is always going to be Cap to me. And logically Bucky would make a great Cap... super soldier and all. I don't love Sam as Cap but it might be better if he was a Super Soldier. I just keep thinking he's going to die... and going up against a Hulk!? How did he not die?
There are a lot of movies coming up including Thunderbolts* which I'm super excited about. Yay for more Bucky.

Date: 2025-05-02 11:08 am (UTC)Queer rom-com DEBS probably squeaks the prize over feel-alike film But I'm A Cheerleader on account of having a more iconic soundtrack.
Alice Oseman's Nick and Charlie. Unless you want me to be more general than the cultural shape these questions seem to have, in which case I'm reading all the incoming results in the UK local elections that were held yesterday. So far it's pretty dire but should be a bit better later on.
The Good Place combines important things to think about and a cast of sheer darn hotties.
Oh it's so expensive that I hardly ever go. I think it might have been whatever Star Wars IX was called.

Date: 2025-05-02 05:17 pm (UTC)The BFG by Roald Dahl, I was and still am a reluctant reader and I'm also severely dyslexic so yeah and when I got to read it in primary school something stuck with me and it's something I still re-read to this day, the audiobook version is also excellent.
The Dyslexic Advantage by Dr Fernette Eide and Dr Brock Eide, this is the one I always recommend especially to people who are not dyslexic. The first time I read this it was a library book and I had to return it before I could finish it so I bought a copy of it but it has had a couple of revised versions/updates released since then, regardless of what version of this you can get it is worth it.
2. What is your all time favourite movie?
Madagscar I've seen it more times than I can count and am constantly quoting from it and Bhoot is a close second. I watch a lot of films and I have my favourites but these are stand outs with having to replace the DVDs several times as neither are on streaming and the international channels on Sky tend to show the same Bollywood films on a loop and badly edited to fit in a million adverts.
3. What are you reading right now?
Mosaic by Jeri Taylor, technically it's canon review for a fic in my BILWY(IL...) series but I'm also having fun with some things that I'd maybe glanced over on previous reads. Of course it is slow going and I do have access to the audiobook but for some reason as much as I love Star Trek and enjoy some of the books, the audiobooks don't quite work for me and I'd prefer to listen than read.
4. What is your favourite show on TV?
I watch Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Prodigy pretty much daily. I do enjoy The Brokenwood Mysteries it's delightfully bonkers and unlike similar shows doesn't take itself too seriously. While it's not very well written or acted I enjoyed Granite Harbour because it's partly filmed in my hometown even though I kept correcting them whenever they referred to Seaton Park as Standard Park, I get it, it's set in a fictionalised version of Aberdeen but that bugged me more than it probably should have and they've started filming series three recently there was cameras and film crew in the train station.
5. What is the last movie you saw in the cinema?
I went to the cinema twice last week. I saw The King Of Kings on Easter Monday which is an animated retelling of the story of Jesus with a fairly big names voice cast. I saw an anniversary screening of Wallace & Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit on Sunday it was so good to see it on the big screen rather than on the telly.
