EDITED TO ADD: Today for the first time in a while, I am able to see on my computer that LiveJournal does indeed exist. However, when I try to log in, I get the message "Your IP address is temporarily banned." I will try again later. I hope someday to access LJ again. Thanks to all who tried to help!

Could it be related to recent rumblings on the Russian side of LJ that denise posted about on Bluesky? I just checked, LJ is working for me, but…???

yes. but have had problems with pages taking so long to load, i get a "this site has taken too long to load & has timed out" messages.

7. Do you have any information about why one would be unable to access LiveJournal?
you can't get into it at all?
if you can sign in; go to your profile, then to display & turn off the services originally developed for the Cyrillic users thing.
maybe clear your cookies or try a different browser.

Sometimes I can get in but sometimes I cannot get in at ALL. It is inconsistent and frustrating as heck.

I forgot to post my answers here on the weekend, but hey … better late than never right?? lol

01. What was the reason you began a dreamwidth or livejournal account (or both)?
I started my DW account back in 2013 because livejournal was beginning to die down and wanted to be on a platform that was similar and more active.

02. How many dreamwidth or livejournal communities do you subscribe to?
On DW I’m currently subscribed to over 250+ communities.

03. Do you have a favorite community or one you check out often to see what’s new?
I don’t have a particular favorite but I do keep a close eye on icon challenge communities.

04. How did you pick your username?
I picked thesleepingbeauty as my username because I love Aurora and Disney (especially their princess films).

05. If you could change your username, would you?
Nope, I love my username.

As for the bonus questions …

06. If you have a livejournal, are you currently able to access it?
Yes, I am. I was able to login and make a few updates without any issues, but I haven’t been able to cross-post anything from Dreamwidth since 2022.

07. Do you have any information about why one would be unable to access Livejournal?
Sorry, I don’t know. Like others have suggested here, I suspect that it has something to do with the Russian side of LJ.
