Questions from [community profile] thefridayfive...

1. If you had a year off (with pay, to make it interesting), what would you do with it? Probably travel - do the 'going round Australia studying ghost towns' bit, maybe even extend it to ghost towns elsewhere :) And more writing. Write about the ghost towns, maybe!

2. What are two things you would do to improve the country if you were in complete charge? Would anyone in their right mind let me be??? Ummm... I'm not going to go for the Big Stuff everyone has a Big Opinion on since to be honest I am not at all sure I'd make things better rather than worse without a lot more thought than I'm prepared to do tonight... but two definites would be more and better public transport, and more money and resources for libraries.

3. What three TV shows do you like watching? Only three???? Ooohkay, taking out my fannish darlings... The Muppet Show, The Addams Family, Catalyst (long-running science show). I have to admit I don't watch a lot of current shows...

4. What are your four favorite ethnic dishes? Thai curries, pasta arriabiata, biriyani, tajines.

5. What are five words you love to use? Only five??? Well, with the caveat that I don't get to use the frst four that much, but do like to... clothwitted, thankee, kerfuffle, frabjous.

And the fifth? - let's be honest again.... me!!!!

1. If you had a year off (with pay, to make it interesting), what would you do with it?
A year off with pay? awesome! I'd split it three ways and spend 50% on travels because there's not enough time in our lives to visit every single country so that would go some way to doing that. Then I'd spend 25% of it on my home and hire someone to remove the horrendous vinyl on the kitchen floor and sand the floorboards (they're natural and pristine!) underneath it, get my bathroom renovated and that definitely includes having a shower installed (baths are really expensive!) and the floor ripped up, again there's pristine floorboards underneath the strange plywood pieces, buy a corner sofa (been looking out for a second hand one for ages now) and of course I'd finally get all of my walls painted because they're white and even with pictures hanging it feels clinical and I've not done it since I moved in five years ago as high walls and ceilings can be difficult without a decent ladder, and I don't have one. The remaining 25% will be going to my chosen charitys - LifeSigns (I used to self harm, this organisation helped me stop doing that) and Leeds Women's Aid (for all the help they gave me and mum way back in those dark dark days)

2. What are two things you would do to improve the country if you were in complete charge?
The two things that I would improve in Scotland would be to be wholly a independent nation (I'm a yes voter and proud of it) I grew up in one of the most deprived areas in West Yorkshire and hated how the council and Westmonster made all kinds of false promises over funding, regeneration etc and never did a damn thing about it. I would also abolish zero hours contracts because they are the employment equivalent of financial abuse and that kind of practise in the 21st century is abhorrent, although I'm in Scotland, I would extend that ZHC one to the rUK too with employment laws currently not part of devolution processes for any devolved parliament.

3. What three TV shows do you like watching?
All the Star Trek shows, The Amazing World of Gumball and Taggart

4. What are your four favourite ethnic dishes?
Yorkshire pudding (home made not shop bought; ex-pat of Yorkshire), Haggis (vegetarian version), and anything that is vegetarian.

5. What are five words you love to use?
Brilliant. Shiny. Okies. Thankies. Noness.
As you can tell I am rather fond of slightly made up words ;)
