Date: 2018-04-28 11:29 am (UTC)1. What was your favorite toy as a child? To be honest, with my memory I have to simply go with one of the few I recall… These knitted dolls.
2. What did you name it? To be honest, I can't recall but one of them was probably Dora as I do sort of recall when even younger loving a little book about a group of toys having adventures and one of them was named Dora (unless I have imagined the book and it was my toys...) Knowing me, the others had named starting with D too.
3. Who gave it to you? It was Mum's knitting pattern booklet, and Mum knitted them. I think for Christmas one year.
4. Do you still have it? No, sad to say, but I did inherited the shabby but still wonderful knitting pattern! (now scanned for posterity :)
5. If not, what happened to it? They were only knitted rag-filled dolls, they probably wore out, poor things. May have been handed out to younger relatives...

Date: 2018-04-28 09:36 pm (UTC)I loved baby dolls. My parents learned that the dolls needed to be bald or else I would decide they needed a haircut, so I had quite a few that looked like Holocaust victims...
2. What did you name it?
My favorite one was called Victoria, so I called her Vicky.
3. Who gave it to you?
My mother and grandmother
4. Do you still have it?
Yes, she sits on my dresser next to my husband's childhood stuffed dog. They are both pretty worn, but keep each other company just fine.
5. If not, what happened to it?
See #4

Date: 2018-04-29 04:46 am (UTC)My Little Mermaid Barbie doll from 1997.
2. What did you name it?
She was an official Disney princess doll, so I just called her Ariel.
3. Who gave it to you?
I’m 99% sure my mother gave it to me.
4. Do you still have it?
Yes and no.
5. If not, what happened to it?
I don’t remember what happened to my original Ariel doll. I think I either lost her, misplaced her or someone stole her. She was really special to me as a kid, so a couple years ago I tried my best to track down an identical doll online. I was lucky enough to find one on Amazon (new and still in her box) for a pretty cheap price. :)
