Here in the US, it is nearly time for Thanksgiving – a time for turkey, football, relatives, and the start of the holiday season.

2. Will you or have you ever participated in Black Friday?
3. Do you love or despise holiday leftovers?
4. Have you seen any (non-commercial, i.e. store) holiday lights yet?

Where did you go on your vacation?

We started in Venice, then took a cruise around to Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, then back to Italy and stayed in Rome for a few days. It was great, but I'm still getting back on track.

That sounds lovely. How was the weather! We have not been to that part of Europe that late in the year before.

Well, we had a bit of bad weather when we started in Venice at the end of October, but after that, it was all lovely blue skies and very moderate temperatures (mid-70's). It didn't stay to get coolish until we got to Rome last week.

No, but I not watch regular television - I mainly use Netflix, with a smattering of Hulu.

2. Will you or have you ever participated in Black Friday?
FUCK no. That's absolutely insane and I do not want to get involved.

3. Do you love or despise holiday leftovers?
I neither love nor hate them. They're just leftovers, like any others.

4. Have you seen any (non-commercial, i.e. store) holiday lights yet?
No, but I'm sure I will soon.

5. Have you been good to Santa’s way of thinking?
Probably not - I'm kind of a bitch.

You are a smart person. The crowd mentality of some Black Friday shoppers scare the crap out of me.

Agree. The only reason I will leave my house on Black Friday is if I need something. Like toilet paper.

That's the only sane thing to do. I prefer to relax and enjoy the after-feasting bliss before the insanity of Christmas.

1) Have you seen any holiday commercials yet? A few, mostly for the sort of food that Aussies eat at Christmas…. But yes, a few (fake) snowy scenes and red-coated Santas have popped up on the telly.

2) Will you or have you ever participated in Black Friday? Not as Americans know it; here, Black Friday simply means any Friday 13th, and at work we often have morning tea with all-black food.

3) Do you love or despise holiday leftovers? Chrissie leftovers on Boxing Day is one of life's pleasures, actually. Keep in mind that the food is already cold (we have chicken, others have cold turkey, ham, seafood… and salad) and icecreamy desserts. What's not to love? :)

4) Have you seen any (non-commercial, i.e. store) holiday lights yet? No, that'll probably be early December - and by then it doesn't even start getting dark till quite late... so seeing any involves going out quite late.

5) Have you been good to Santa’s way of thinking? Boringly so, I fear...

Yes, but thanks to Tivo and streaming, I am missing most of them. (I was most thankful for this during political ad time.)

2. Will you or have you ever participated in Black Friday?

Other than online; no. I have a good idea of presents that I will be gifting by the time it rolls around, so BF would just be shopping for myself. (I did just buy tickets to France on an airline early BF sale.)

3. Do you love or despise holiday leftovers?

I love them! After all of the work of a holiday meal, it is nice to relax for a day or two, plus if I get tired of them in original form, then I re-purpose them into something else...turkey nachos, hasselback potato soup, etc.

4. Have you seen any (non-commercial, i.e. store) holiday lights yet?

Not yet

5. Have you been good to Santa’s way of thinking?

Mostly; I try to be a loving, giving, and grateful person.

I was pretty happy that we were out of the country for the last couple of weeks of the campaigning, too.

I prefer to do most of my shopping on line, too. It's so much easier and they can be giftwrapped and sent directly to people, which keeps me out of the post office. Another plus. :D

I don't watch much TV, so no, actually! But I just looked this one up so I could say I did. I love that.

I love not having to cook for a day!

Listen, considering the state of our world leaders, apparently the naughty list means nothing these days. So who cares?

I have to admit that I do enjoy that commercial. Some of the old Folgers and Budweiser commercials are great, too.

It's a great commercial, and it was my dad's favorite too and probably is my mom's. I love it so much.
