thefridayfive...
1. What is your favorite game? Oh, ummmm…. Probably Spider Solitaire on the computer, though online/computer mah jongg can be relaxing. I used to quite love Space Invaders and Tetris as a not very computer game savvy kid, have looked but never found a 'retro' copy that I like as well as the old (clunky, but who cares?) ones.
For card games, the family has a thing about Oh Hell, which can be great fun with the right players :)
2. What is your earliest memory? You have here someone with a really really bad memory to start with… and who tends to dream a fair bit about the past (and dead people, though I can usually tell it's not a memory because I and they know they are dead). Hard to pick the 'real' thing - whatever that is where memory is concerned - but maybe it's the knitted dolls I had as a child, probably (Mum made them, we found them in her stacks of old knitting patterns years later and I scanned and kept it. I'm sentimental, so sue me). Okay, they do talk back in the memory but that could be because small me did carry on long conversations with my toys, and had the imagination to hear them talk back.
Or it could be a dim and fragmentary mental picture, the ramshackle house of one of Mum's elderly friends/relatives: dark and shadowy and filled with old china. Mainly teapots. Lots and lots of teapots. Do NOT ask me why I recall the lots and lots and lots of teapots.
3. If you could have one wish fulfilled, what would it be? If just one, good health for the rest of my days, for everyone I love (and me!)
4. Have you ever lost something that is important to you? Were you able to find it A watch on a chain that wasn't worth a lot, but had been a present and I was very fond of; it went missing on a beach and no, I never got it back. I've probably lost heaps of stuff over the years but don't actually recall how they went out of my life, so can't actually swear they were lost lost.
5. Would you rather go scuba diving or rock climbing? Why? Unless I got the wish in question 3, neither, thank you (dodgy hip and knees here! - and I don't swim, I sink like a rock, so am scared of too much water). Make it a very very small rock and I'll think about it, but not very hard.
