1. What’s the weather outside your window doing right now? If that’s not inspiring, what’s the weather like somewhere you wish you could be?
2. What’s for breakfast? Lunch? Dinner?
3. What are things you can’t go without?
4. How did your parents choose your name?
5. If you could travel back in time, where and when would you go?

If you'd like to suggest questions for a future Friday Five, then do so on DreamWidth or LiveJournal. Old sets that were used have been deleted, so we encourage you to suggest some more!

Date: 2020-04-12 12:25 am (UTC)1. What's the weather outside your window doing right now? If that’s not inspiring, what’s the weather like somewhere you wish you could be? It's cool - has been warm earlier - with a clear, starlit night sky. We had some fierce-ish gusts of wind earlier, but they seem to have died down, so a light, quiet breeze.
2. What's for breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? It was one of our vegetarian days, so we had home-made hot cross buns for breakfast; toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches for lunch; vegetable biryani for dinner. And all very nice too :)
3. What are things you can't go without? I have a feeling that most people, after the past month, would put loo paper first… but we can, we just really really really don't want to.
And actually, there is very little (obviously apart from food and sleep and such) that I haven't discovered at one time or another I can - as apart from won't be very very unhappy if I have to - go without, with the exception of my BP tablets, my Nearest and Dearest, and my glasses. And electricity. Oh, and money... I may not need a fortune but being the diametric opposite of a survivor of any stripe, I need to be able to fund being me. And my imagination to keep me happy being me.
Stuff I would really really really don't want to go without would be my laptop Libby and the Muddle, lots of pen and paper, fluffy socks and blankets, coffee, vegemite (I spent six weeks missing it on an overseas trip, since then I pack it), my big bed (when we stay at hotels, I always pay for a queen or better because smaller beds and dodgy knees don't get along), and plenty of reading material.
Okay, I'll be honest... and probably toilet paper {g} I can, I just really really really don't want to.
4. How did your parents choose your name? I honestly aren't certain, I know they told us once how they chose the names for all ten of us, and I can recall most of them... and I have this feeling my first name (which is not Sally, that's middle, for family and friends :) was an actress Mum had a liking for, slightly different in spelling.
5. If you could travel back in time, where and when would you go? That depends on how quickly and safely I can get back, and how many of the comforts of modern life I could take with me. The temptation is always to say "just before X happened, so I could warn people," but the rational part of my brain knows that [a] no one would listen to a small, scatty fluffy-looking woman spouting gloom and doom, would they? - and [b] I firmly believe that even with time travel you can't change the past, because when you actually go travelling it has already happened. You can't change the past because you can't change you past.
I'm also tempted by "I can bring forward and revive X from extinction!!!" but there are just too many, from tiny Permian beasties to Sis's beloved ammonites to some of the most recent, man-made disappearances. Mind you, if I did weaken and bring some back, Jurassic Park it wouldn't be. I love dinosaurs but prefer safely loooong-dead ones.
So just to sightsee -? Maybe prehistory. So I could leave something inexplicable modern in the million-year-ago rocks that could be discovered in 2020, just to give the world something new to go bonkers over (Lego? Toy aliens? A giant plastic gnome???) Though knowing my luck, I'd end up with continental drift landing it under the deepest ocean rift...
