1. What toys were popular when you were a kid?

He-Man action figures, Transformers, GI Joe (didn't have any), Atari 2600, 8-bit Nintendo

2. What musicians were popular when you were a teenager?
NKOTB, Bon Jovi and all the hair/metal bands, Paula Abdul... gosh, I forget who else now.

3. What unique personality traits do you think you have in common with others born around the same time as you?

Hmm, I think there's the overall frustration and struggle to be successfully employed because we have our parents' and especially grandparents' generations as examples, who started at one job and worked there their whole lives with a good retirement. There was that expectation for "this is how life works," and then came into adulthood and, haha, not so!

4. Do you think stereotypes about your generation are accurate?

The self-reliance of being the "home alone after school" / Latchkey kids. I'm in that not-quite-GenX, not-quite-Millenial age range where I remember what it was like to be pre-internet, but also was an early adopter for learning how to use the web and be tech savvy.

5. What do you admire about other generations?

On the whole, I liked music better from the older generations! Music from the 1940-1970s is more my style. Do I admire them for that? No, but I appreciate the music for sure.

What toys were popular when you were a kid?
Barbie, Major Morgan, Electro Junior, Clickets (magnetic balls)...

What musicians were popular when you were a teenager?
Hmm ... old teenager or young teenager? Or middle teenager? :p
Will Smith, Nirvana, Bon Jovi, Guns 'n Roses, New Kids on the Block, Roxette, Alanis Morrissette, Counting Crows, Live, The Crash Test Dummies, Two Princes, Technotronic, 2Unlimited, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Eurythmics ... the list is endless.

What unique personality traits do you think you have in common with others born around the same time as you?
Er ... that is an odd question. I'm not sure how to answer that. Uncertainty? Is that a personality trait?

Do you think stereotypes about your generation are accurate?
Well, it was a time of great technological change. Computers becoming part of family life, the internet. Being exposed to the world via a machine was an exciting and interesting time for teenagers. Probably still is today. Not too sure what the stereotypes are/were. I certainly had a sheltered childhood, one that I grew to resent - is that a stereotype? Did others feel that way? Or perhaps the kids today still feel that way too. Technology moves faster than adults want their children to experience. Maybe because they want their children to stay innocent a little longer. I digress.

What do you admire about other generations?
I admire how unsheltered the kids are today. It's scary to see it, as an adult, but I'd have loved the freedom today's teenagers seem to have.
