Date: 2022-09-23 12:12 pm (UTC)1 How many stars can you see in the sky at night where you live? (Not looking for an exact number here, just a general description.) With the naked eye? On a good night several hundred I'd say, and the soft, sparkling belt of the Milky Way through them all. The sky where I live is pretty clear if not perfect, and Australia does have a better view of the Milky Way as I understand, so there are a lot more stars... but my eyesight's too dodgy to see them as clearly as others probably can. I still appreciate what we have :)
2 What is your favorite constellation? It's such a cliché but I have a big soft spot for our Southern Cross, and the constellation it - and the glorious cluster known as the Jewel Box are part of, Crux.
3 Are you able to see and identify any planets in the sky? Which ones? No. I know they are there - the online star map shows the outer planets are especially visible at night right now - but I'm not experienced enough and my eyes aren't good enough to pick them out. I used to know a bloke with a telescope and sometimes he'd set it up for watching, the first time I saw Saturn though it was... quite literally unearthly.
4 Have you ever seen a satellite orbiting above the earth? Not that I know of.
5 Have you ever seen a rocket blasted off into space? Not in reality, just on TV, but that was pretty mind-blowing when I was young :) The chances of the real thing ever happening here are... pretty much just science fiction.

I see them on cold nights. There are a lot of them in sky scattered everywhere more than ten to fifteen. Sometimes I see a small group of stars 3-4 bunched in a pattern aka constellations.
2. What is your favorite constellation?
-------------------------------------------
The Pegasus. I was reading about 3rd decan Pisces and how we rule that zone in the constellation. The zone of the "impossible" etc. Otherwise I don't know anything about constellations.
3. Are you able to see and identify any planets in the sky? Which ones?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have old telescope I use to be able to see the moon pretty close. I do see super big bright stars in the sky it could be venus or some other planet. I've seen a shooting start only ONCE, and I remember it forever or it could have been something else.
4. Have you ever seen a satellite orbiting above the earth?
------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely not. I have seen stars moving in the sky, like their slowly skipping. I do a double take and all that. These were not shooting stars but they moving slowly in the sky and there's no way anyone would believe me. lol
5. Have you ever seen a rocket blasted off into space?
--------------------------------------------------------
No, but I have heard something loud like a rocket called a sonic boom when I think Obama was in town. Big wall shaking blast.
